Vacation In Montreal
Traveling might be restricted in the current days, but that can’t stop the travel plans from continuing at full speed. While there might be plenty of guides on where to go as couples or families, there seems to be a lack of group vacation ideas. Luckily, we’re here to try and fix that with our group vacation guide to Montreal!
Best Times To Visit
You’ll find that the best times to come to Montreal are in the spring or fall. The weather isn’t too brutal (for Canada) and accommodation prices are often lower. The crowds also tend to be smaller during these periods.
What To See?
What exactly should your group be looking for while visiting in order to get the most from the trip?
Old Montreal
There doesn’t even need to be a particular destination in this section of the city. Simply wandering around and looking at the French heritage of the city will fill anyone with wonder. Whether it’s cute bistros or European basilicas your group is looking for, this section of the city will have it.
Scooter Tour
If your group travel wants to include as much sightseeing as possible, scooter tours are the way to go. They are relatively inexpensive and let you see more locations in a shorter amount of time. You can look at all the unique neighborhoods around Montreal without ever having to leave your group. What’s not to love?
The Various Alcohol Tours
Everyone likes to lighten the load on these trips and what better way than to sample the local alcohol? Wine or beer, you needn’t fear- Montreal has tours for both in order to accommodate all tastes. If your group travel is international, might as well party like the locals!
What To Eat
One of the best parts of Montreal is how diverse it is. In addition to the French-Canadian influences on the food, there’s also international cuisine available. You can find Thai, Middle Eastern, Italian, and almost anything else. Some particular, Montreal-specific, highlights include their wood-fire oven bagels and smoked meat sandwiches.
What To Speak
While you can get by on just speaking English, it wouldn’t hurt to pick up a French phrase or two! Montreal has one of the developed cities that primarily speaks French in the world, though many also speak English. You could even make a competition out of who could learn the most French before heading to the city.
How To Get Around
There are a couple of ways to get around Montreal for your group. The Montreal metro (or subway) system makes for a quick and easy way to get almost anywhere in the city. It also gives access to the so-called “Underground City”, where you can find more shops and eateries. Then there’s the St. Lawrence River, where you can hop on a boat for a tour of the city while relaxing on the water.
So Pourquoi pas Montréal?
And there you have it. Montreal makes for a great destination for any group looking for vacation ideas. Especially once the pandemic clears and restrictions lift, feel free to grab your buddies and head off to Canada. You’ll find a wonderful city awaiting you!
