Visiting Hawaii

Hawaii has certainly become an even more popular destination than it was previously with the travel restrictions going on. However, I come with some good news in relation to visiting Hawaii. Hawaii has just relaxed its travel restrictions for fully vaccinated travelers. So if you are 15 days past the second shot (or 15 days past the J&J shot) then you can travel to Hawaii without testing. They also no longer require testing to travel between the islands anymore. Delta Variant

Just when we think there is light at the end of the tunnel, the Delta Variant raises up its head too. This is certainly creating more uncertainty about travel and travel restrictions. Some interesting findings though about this from WHO, those who do contract the Delta Variant after being full vaccinated are generally asymptomatic or are very mild. The rising of cases is happening with the unvaccinated population.

Confusing Rules

Just when you think you know what the rules are, they change again. Talk about a tough time to be a travel advisor. All I know is what I knew yesterday! Because today might be totally different (and generally will be different). Ireland reopened to Non-EU citizens, but there is a restriction of which countries you can come from. This speaks even more importantly to why you will need travel insurance from this point on in the future! Not only to cover you for medical reasons while out of the country but travel delays (rolling my eyes here), border closures (depending on your policy), and your non-refundable charges!

But Still We CAN

So while I am sharing all the travel restrictions and possible barriers, there are a lot of places that people can travel to now! I lead by example. I still get excited to get a new stamp in my passport, although I might have to jump through a lot more hoops to do it. I do think that it will be more complicated to travel for quite some time in the future, but those of us with wanderlust are happy to just get out there. How about you? Are you ready?
