Road Trip Tips
So how do you survive a road trip with your family while not going crazy? This is a very good question, and not an easy thing to do by the way. Long road trips are wonderful for creating new memories with your family, but they can test your patience to be sure. I am going to outline a few road trip tips to make your next car ride more enjoyable and memorable.
Playlists
We all love a sing along. Singing makes you happy and sets a good tone for the long hours ahead. A good suggestion is to have each person on the trip pick 2 or 3 songs that they would really enjoy. Then create a playlist that will “suit” the masses and everyone will enjoy.
Pack Snacks
Getting hangry is a great way to ruin a road trip. You may not be anywhere near a convenience store or a restaurant when “hunger” hits. Be sure to find something for everyone. If the palate varies from person to person, ask each one to pick a snack or two that they would enjoy.
Rent A Bigger Car
Space is paramount to a long road trip. This might cost more than a smaller “will fit” size, but the extra leg room will make all the difference after hours on the road. You will have more space for luggage, snacks, and more importantly, your legs!
Make It About The Journey
Most important of all, don’t make it about where you are going. Slow down, don’t rush to the next stop. Focus on unique stops along the way to see something interesting. It’s these sorts of things that will create the wonderful memories, rather than rushing to the “destination” and everyone being irritable when you arrive from the long drive with hardly any stops.
Of course, there are a bunch more things we could add to this list, but you get the idea. Are you ready for your next family vacation? Maybe you would like to take your adult children on a European exploration? How about a family reunion cruise trip? Whatever your needs, I am waiting to assist.
