If you are still around the East End, maybe having visited the Tower of London or Spitalfields Market then you have to check out Brick Lane. You may think that the English national dish is fish & chips, but you would be wrong. Indian food has been the most popular food in the country for probably 30 years now. One of the epicenters in London is Brick Street. Even if you don’t go to eat, go for the smells. It’s an amazing walk through Brick Street Market. Thefood traders where you can get a classic Chicken Tikka Masala, many different curries, as well as Bangladeshi and Turkish food as well.
Even if it isn’t the national dish, Fish & Chips still deserves a strong mention, and there isn’t any place better than Poppies (in London, we won’t talk about up North in this article). Countless awards have been bestowed on the friendly family-style restaurant. You certainly won’t be disappointed.
The Ivy in Covent Garden serves the best Shepherds Pie in the capital. This place has a history of a favorite pre-theater dinner restaurant. Make sure to get a reservation here to ensure a spot, anywhere the Queen has eaten is sure to be in high demand
Simpsons in the Strand started life as a chess and cigar club, which isn’t where I would normally want to eat dinner, but this is extremely traditional British high-quality food and used to be a favorite of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle of Sherlock Holmes fame.
