I know we are all in love with the idea of traveling, visiting exotic places, and let’s face it, a great airport lounge on the way or the return just makes the trip. Today’s blog is going to be about my “favorite” first-class airport lounge.
WELCOME TO HEATHROW
The best lounge (pre covid of course) that Richard and I ever visited was the British Airways lounge at Heathrow! As Richard is English, we travel through Heathrow frequently. You can enjoy this dedicated British Airways departure lounge if you are:
- Flying on a scheduled British Airways flight in First, Business (Club World) or business (Club Europe).
- A silver or gold member of the British Airways Executive Club on a scheduled flight operated by British Airways.
- You are an Emerald or Sapphire member of any OneWorld airline frequent flyer program.
- Over the age of 18 years old. If you are under 18 years old, you must be accompanied by an adult.
PERKS OF THE LOUNGE
In the days of Covid, there are of course new procedures in place for airport lounges. There are protective measures such as social distancing and hand sanitizing stations.
They now have contactless entry. You can scan your own boarding pass as well as use the “Your Menu” where you are able to order your own food and drink which will be brought to you at your seat. There’s also a Welcome Card with a guide on how to make your stay more comfortable that you can request.
You can choose from both food and drink from the menu in the comfort of your seat. Hot and cold food choices are offered and alcoholic drinks are offered complimentary.
Of course, there is also free Wi-Fi offered in the lounges.
Flying through Heathrow? The lounge in Terminal 5 is open (with some limiting of hours). Let me know if you need some assistance navigating the airport lounges and/or booking your trip to England. Click here to email me at cathy@amoretraveldesigns.com
